Kathmandu — The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has finalized preparations for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, scheduled to begin on January 18, 2026. This marks the most significant global cricket event ever hosted in the country.
The tournament will see ten international teams divided into two groups. Host nation Nepal is placed in Group B alongside the Netherlands, Scotland, Thailand, and Zimbabwe. Group A consists of Bangladesh, Ireland, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, and the United States.
Matches will be played at two primary venues: the Tribhuvan University (TU) International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur and the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground. Ahead of the main event, warm-up matches will commence on January 14. This qualifier is a crucial milestone for the "Mission 2026" initiative, aimed at elevating Nepali cricket on the global stage.
